About Me

  • As you may have guessed, I was born and raised in Canada.  I came down here to go to school (Ricks College, BYU, and Utah State).

  • I have been a ballroom dancer most of my life (performing, teaching, choreographing, judging, and writing), and it is how I met my wife, who is also a dancer.  Yes, that's terribly romantic.

  • Both of my parents were artists, which is where I believe I inherited my love for it and my abilities in it.

  • My favourite medium is pencil, but I also enjoy charcoal, pen-and-ink, ceramics, printmaking, and graphic design (which I still do professionally).

  • I enjoy writing and have been published both here in the US and in Poland.

  • During the summer, most of my time is spent working in my yard, where I like to apply what I learned about art and apply it to landscaping.  I have a true-to-scale replica of Bag End (Bilbo Baggins' Hobbit hole) in my yard.

  • I am in the process of learning how to play the bass guitar and the drums.  It's all about the rhythm.  And yes, my family loves hearing me practice.

  • I have enjoyed being involved in and watching most sports, but my favourites are volleyball, soccer, hockey, and BYU football.

  • I am also a professional mobile/wedding DJ.
